With deep expertise in library design and a keen understanding of the importance of historical context, Hidell and Associates bring a unique combination of experience, creativity, and respect for our community’s heritage.
The expansion will honor Uvalde’s history while preparing the Library for the future. The design draws inspiration from the West Main School House, reflecting the architectural character of Uvalde and its educational legacy. This approach ensures that the new spaces feel familiar and welcoming, while incorporating modern functionality, accessibility, and sustainable features that meet the needs of residents, visitors, and generations to come.
By blending historical elements with forward-thinking design, our expansion project will create dynamic community spaces, makerspaces, technology centers, and flexible programming areas, all while maintaining the warmth, charm, and sense of place that make El Progreso Memorial Library a cherished part of Uvalde.
