Our Vision: Next Generation Library For Uvalde
For over a century, El Progreso Memorial Library has been a cornerstone of knowledge, culture, and community in Uvalde. Today, we are proud to launch the Next Generation Capital Campaign to transform our library into a modern, welcoming, and innovative hub for residents and visitors alike. This campaign will modernize our facilities, enhance programming, and provide lasting support for our staff and community.
Transforming Spaces, Enriching Experiences
Our campaign focuses on remodeling and expanding the Library to bring new opportunities to the community. Key improvements include:

Museum Expansion: Enhancing exhibits on farming, ranching, wildlife, and cultural heritage to educate visitors and preserve Uvalde’s history.
New Bookstore: A modern space offering a curated selection of books and gifts.
Archives Expansion: Enlarged Virginia Wood Davis Archives to preserve historical materials, including the Los Angelitos de Robb collection and oral history projects.
Recording Studio: A cutting-edge space for podcasts, oral histories, and community audio projects.
Teen Space: Updated areas for study, socializing, gaming, and hands-on learning in a dynamic makerspace.
Children’s Space: Interactive and engaging learning zones with cozy reading nooks, play areas, and age-appropriate resources.
